Often times, parents and kids seem to be marching to the beat of different drummers. March 30th Character and Attitudes
What key attitudes are important for parents to impart to their children and how is that best done in a parenting/child world impacted by busyness, peer pressure, and societal influences? With a biblical base for guidance, parents can instill in their children character qualities like gratitude, appreciation, and generosity of spirit; they can raise children who are healthy, confident, full of life, have sound character, and who love God. And, of course, it's very important for a child to know a parent's love. Using the wisdom of Scripture and examples from his own parental realm, Rick Wilson will help narrow the gap between the different worlds of parents and kids.
April 6th Bodies and Borders
When children mature into teenagers, parents may become totally overwhelmed with how to deal with issues such as: 1) sexuality, 2) privacy, 3) freedom, and 4) anger. Join us as we tackle these tough questions regarding boundaries and knowing when your teenager is trying to test those limits. He also shares insightful advice based on his own parenting experience and what he has done to handle these crises when they arrive. By making sure there is constant communication with a healthy sense of trust and guidance from parents, teens will be able to handle maturation responsibly. Teens can also stay strong and self-confident in a world where negative media image and peer pressure is ever present.

The desire of every parent is to be able to connect to their children on a deep level. Whether its a mother sharing those first few hours with her newborn, or the father wanting to still go play catch with his now withdrawn 14 year old. The One who can connect with anyone, parent or child, is Father God. He said in the Bible that He will draw the hearts of the children to the fathers, and the hearts of the fathers to the children.
