Going For Gold
The greatest athletes in the world are gathering together this month in Beijing to compete for Olympic gold. All of the nations of the world are turning their collective attention to this one event to cheer on their countries sons and daughters. The Olympic games serve a reminder to believers that we too have a race that we are running and a price to be obtained. And just like the athletes at this year's Games, we must be constantly training, throwing off the things that hinder us, enduring till the end, and inspiring those around us. Join us in the month of August as we highlight these important aspects of our Christian lives.

For 3 week's every 4 years,
the collective attention of the world turns toward one event. The
dreams and pride of nations rise and fall with every victory and defeat
of their countries athletes. However unlike the 4 year cycle of the
Olympics, the race we run is ran daily. And while our victories and
failures aren't televised globally, how we handle them is viewed by
more people than we know. As believers, we can no longer live our lives
as though we are an island. We must accept the challenge of constantly
being on display with a passion and conviction that causes others to
want to join the race as well.

ROC Communications

We are expanding our communications at the ROC and want to give you every opportunity to stay on top of the happenings around here. One way we have is our text message system. Basically, just click the link below, insert your cell number, and you'll get text reminders for special events at the ROC. There are usually only about 3-4 texts that go out a month to this list.
Another tool we use quite a lot is our group on Facebook. Here we share photos and videos and other stuff happening in each others lives. Already, about a 1/3 of all of the people in the ROC are a part of it. Check it out:

Well I hope that all of you are busy watching the Olympics and not the "prophets of doom" from the local weather broadcasts. Haha. They sure do love hurricane season don't they. Regardless though, we at the ROC, especially after Myra's message this past Sunday, will endure through anything that comes our way. If you happened to miss Sunday morning, please visit our 
Our new home group ministry, Family Life Groups, kick off this Wednesday night at 7 pm. We have high hopes that these gatherings will promote new levels of friendship within the ROC and further strengthen our family connections with each other. Wednesday nights now have something for everyone at the ROC. Please drop your children off at the church by 6:45 and pick them up before 9:30. This will give you and our childrens and youth workers plenty of time.
Do you need a healing touch from God? Or do you know anyone else who needs hands lain on them for the purpose of physical healing? Then you need to come out to the ROC on Saturday at 10 for our Healing Rooms.
